Winter Bliss

This week at The Bread Peddler:

Tues Jan 13, 4 to 8 pm: Bread sales at The Bread Peddler – get ’em fresh from the oven!
Wed Jan 14, 9 am: Bread delivery to Green Tree Health & Wellness, Reid Street, Quesnel
Wed Jan 14, 4 to 8 pm: Pizza Night – What can I say? It tastes good.
Fri Jan 16, 9 am: Bread delivery to Troll Ski Resort

Our winter schedule is now in full swing and we are liking it! It lets us go skiing quite a bit. We have x-country skied on the local trails that Tim is now volunteering to pack and track set,  and last Friday we skied at Troll Ski Resort (the best little hill in BC!). Yesterday I was out on a short alpine-touring trip on one of our local hills.

Hoar frost clinging to icicles hanging from tree branches - proof of a melt and then a hard freeze (I am guessing).

Tim is very excited to have the free time now to work on the cargo bike. Here he is getting ready to install the front brakes - one set for each wheel!

I have also been busy doing the book-keeping from 2014. It is a little like re-living the craziness of the past year: I think it was January 9, 2014 that we started working on the first bits of the renovation, when the building looked like the photo below. There were many dollars spent, many trips back and forth to Quesnel and Prince George for supplies, and many hours of hard work to get the place looking and functioning like a bakery! (And then we had to learn how to bake bread). I am looking forward to 2015: the bread will get even better, I will get to bake other fun and yummy things, we will get to spend most Saturdays of the summer at the Quesnel Farmer’s Market, and best of all, the stress levels will have decreased dramatically. Happy New Year!

The bakery space - still in use as a carpentry shop, albeit slightly dishevelled by the addition of a few bikes and bike parts.
