Here is what we will have Saturday June 11 at The Quesnel Farmer’s Market:
Our regular line-up of breads is: Holey Hannah, Tooty Fruity, Beer Belly, Grainy Day, Ryed On!, Speedy, and Spelt-Date-Walnut.
Our savoury loaf this week will be Chive and Feta.
Our newest bread in the family is Desmond, and he will be there, too! Desmond is a 100% whole-wheat sourdough bread that we have been testing out for a little while. All the flour is freshly milled in our stone mill, and we are using a new whole-wheat sourdough culture for the leavening. The ingredients? Wheat, water, salt. The result? Flavour. By the way, “desem” is the Dutch word for whole-grain sourdough, and name of the resulting bread. We started calling the sourdough culture “Desmond” when we were building it this past winter – as in, “Have you fed Desmond yet today?” – and the name has stuck.
The two choices of scones will be Rhubarb or Lemon-Poppyseed.
We will have our delicious and healthy Bread Peddler Granola as well.
Come early! Scones sell out by 10:30 usually, and bread sells out by noon.
