Stollen, Scones, and Skiing.

Tues Nov 29, 4 to 8 pm: Bread and scones for sale – hot out of the oven! (Scones will be ready after 6:30).
Wed Nov 30, 9 am: Bread and scones delivered to Green Tree Health & Wellness, Reid St, Quesnel
Sat Dec 3: 10 am to 3 pm: Quesnel Christmas Farmer’s Market – Bread, scones, hot chocolate mix, pancake mix, and granola for sale.

Starting this week and for the next four weeks we will be delivering scones along with bread to Green Tree on Wednesday morning. Stop in there after 9 am for a treat to go with your morning coffee – this week’s flavour is Huckleberry-Orange, made with the finest wild Wells huckleberries, picked by my friend Jen Ray.

Margaret and I sampled the Stollen Friday evening and have deemed it “edible”. Our Quesnel customers can put their name on the exclusive Stollen List at Green Tree, and our Wells customers can call or email us directly to get a loaf of rummy goodness put aside for them. Stollen is a dense yeasted fruit bread containing rum-soaked raisins and fruit peel. There is a home-made almond paste log in the centre. It is made in late November and aged until Christmas time – or until you can’t take the suspense any longer!

Stollen!
Stollen!

You can certainly see it when you drive past the bakery, and you can probably see it from space if you look at just the right second!
You can certainly see our new sign when you drive past the bakery, and you can probably see it from space if you look at just the right moment! We are trying to catch all the mining types as they speed past our door. Here’s hoping it works!

We have FINALLY been out skiing! And what a blast it is. Tim keeps saying, “Wow, that was so much fun. I had forgotten how much fun skiing is!”
