Making the most of a scarce day off, we rode our bikes yesterday afternoon. Somehow (we are still trying to fathom out how) Kate fell off her bike, and rendered herself out of commission for a while – she has damaged her AC joint in her left shoulder, and some soft tissue in her left hip (fortunately her bike is still OK). This means, from a Bread Peddler perspective, that she can’t carry out the duties of a chief baker – obviously any lifting, let alone heavy lifting is out of the question, not to mention shaping loaves and making pizza.
However, we have not given up, and if her patience holds out (and mine too), we will be carrying out a crash (no pun intended) course in baking sometime during the week, albeit at a reduced volume. Pizza night will however be on hold until she is fit enough to resume her key role, unless of course we can work out another solution.
Here is the plan for this week;
Tuesday 18th August, no bread sales in Wells.
Wednesday 19th August, no deliveries to Green Tree Health and Wellness or Bouchie Lake Country Store, and no pizza night.
Saturday 22nd August 8.30am until 1pm, Quesnel Farmers Market with limited bread and scones.
